Ian holds a doctorate from University of London and an MBA from Henley Business School. 

He is an experienced Company Director having held technical operations and business development, company secretarial and CEO roles for both start-up businesses and larger organisations.

Ian is a hands-on director who has a track record of developing and improving high technology businesses in both operational and business development arenas.  He has over 20 years experience in the management of technology projects and 15 years of business experience at director level.

 Ian has managed complex Research & Development and Operations projects including·        

  • Development and implementation of the world’s first fully automated mass manufacturing line for electrochemical cells
  • The development of micro-fluidic devices for advanced manufacture of pharmaceuticals
  • The development and product rationalisation of a multi-element infra red imaging chip for military and commercial applications
  • The development of printed heating elements that are now used in the majority of kettles worldwide
  • The development and implementation of a novel gas sensor for domestic carbon monoxide monitoring for safety applications

Ian has specific expertise in

  • Management of R&D project to give on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Management of complex teams to ensure team coherence and effective working
  • The development of creative teams to generate significant intellectual property assets (patents, designs)
  • The preparation and submission of business plans resulting in spin-out / start-up funding
